Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
PingImmo helps you find new properties in the areas you draw. To do that, we keep as little personal data as necessary. Below you can read which data, why, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This is a translation: in case of doubt, the Dutch version prevails.
1. Who is responsible?
PingImmo. Send privacy questions to privacy@pingimmo.be.
2. What data we process
- Account: your email address and password. Your password is stored encrypted (hashed). We cannot read it. We also record when you accepted the terms and which version.
- Your search: the areas you draw, your criteria (type, price, bedrooms, bathrooms, EPC, living area), the estate agencies you follow, whether you want alerts, and the language of those alerts.
- Alert recipients: the email addresses you add yourself. Only add addresses of people who agree to it.
- Seen and favourites: which properties you marked as seen (or clicked on the map) and which you starred, so we can show them that way.
- Settings: your language and whether you last used the map or the list, so the app reopens that way, also on another device.
- Feedback: what you send us with the "Feedback" button in the app, together with your email address, so we can reply. It is erased together with your account.
- Subscription: your subscription status. Payments go through a payment provider. We do not store card details.
- Estate agencies that contact us: agency name, website, name, email address and optionally phone number and message, only to handle the request (joining or removal). We keep them as long as needed for the cooperation or to prove that we carried out a removal request.
- Technical data: logs of our hosting partners (such as IP address and time) for security and troubleshooting.
3. Why and on what legal basis
- Providing the service (your account, your search, map and alerts): performance of the contract with you.
- Proof of your acceptance of the terms: our legitimate interest.
- Payments and accounting: legal obligation.
- Security and improvement of the service: our legitimate interest.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Who we share data with
We work with service providers who only process data on our behalf:
- Supabase: database and login, with servers in the EU (Ireland).
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Resend: delivery of the email alerts.
- GitHub: runs the program that checks the agencies' websites and prepares the alerts. In doing so it processes the recipients' email addresses.
- OVHcloud: our domain name and our own mailbox (when you email us).
- Payment provider for Pro subscriptions, once Pro can be bought.
- Map services: the map comes from OpenFreeMap. Place names, searching for a place and municipality boundaries come from OpenStreetMap: what you type in those search fields goes to them. Your browser fetches this directly. They see your IP address, not your account.
If a service provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this happens with the legally required safeguards (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
5. How long we keep data
- Account and search data: as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we erase them immediately. Copies in our service providers' automatic backups disappear by themselves, within 30 days at most.
- An account nobody logged into for 24 months and that receives no email alerts is deleted automatically, with all its data. We warn you by email 30 and 7 days in advance. If you log in, your account stays.
- Billing data: 7 years, as required by accounting law.
- Technical logs: at most 90 days.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw your consent. You delete your account and all data yourself through the account menu at the top right of the app: it happens immediately. Want a copy of your data, or have another question? Send an email from your account's address to privacy@pingimmo.be. We reply within one month.
Not satisfied? You can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
7. Security and data breaches
All connections to PingImmo are encrypted (https). We only store passwords hashed, and the database is in the EU, with access limited to what is needed. Should a data breach occur that poses a risk to you, we inform you and the Data Protection Authority as the law requires.
8. Cookies
We only use cookies and local storage that are needed for the service to work, such as keeping you logged in and remembering your language. More in our cookie policy.
9. Property data
The properties on PingImmo come from the public websites of estate agencies. We show limited data (price, type, location, photo) and always link to the agency's own listing. We do not show names or contact details of sellers or landlords, and an address only as the agency publishes it itself.
10. Minimum age
PingImmo is intended for people aged 16 or older.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we mention it here and, for important changes, also by email.
